August-September 2010:  August 2010 will have a long weekend but these months are ideally for tours with people not bound to school holidays.  A “Blomme Toer” [Flower Tour] to Namaqualand could be fitted in.

October 2010:  There is a short school holiday [10 days trip] in this month [starting at the end of September] which makes it suitable for a wildlife photography trip. October is traditionally very hot in Southern Africa and the heat can be intolerable at places like Kubu Island where you can expect temperatures up to 50⁰C in the shade. We have been there in October a couple of years back and can confirm that it is very hot – we have just received a report from South Luangwa and they tell us that it is very hor there at the moment [October 2009]. We are thinking of taking our Wildlife Photography trip for 2010 to MANA POOLS in Zimbabwe [the school holidays are from 23rd September 2010 – 4th October 2010].

November 2010:  Traditionally people do not travel in this month due to school and university exams.

December 2010: Coastal areas are very popular as well as the wet areas of Botswana as the “Green Season” starts with excellent bird viewing opportunities. Many people will visit Mozambique during this school holidays.

We will concentrate on tours between March and October 2010 as it is traditionally the popular period. Our tours are custom made for our members/guests and are therefore not rigid. We can chop and change or even arrange special tours for groups/families.

The way we construct our tours is to create buffer time in case of delays or emergencies – this also influence the way that we need to do our bookings. We hate to rush from one place to another. Unfortunately sometimes at some places we are bound to time limits/fixed bookings. Be on the lookout for our “Safari Planning Course”.

We have the following tours to propose:

CHOBE WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY TRIP: [October 2010 – 10 days] R4,000.00 per person*

For photography trips we prefer to stay and camp inside a Park as to allow us the “Golden Hour” i.e. the hour after sunrise or the hour before sunset. However, there is an alternative where we can achieve much the same results. We have cut out some the costs by making it a self drive [4x4 essential] and self catering trip. *Terms and conditions apply.

These are self-drive safaris with your own 4x4 and camping gear. Parks fees [based on 2009 tariffs] as well as camping fees are included. We supply the communication radios, recovery vehicle, guides and support on tour. Contact us on +27+12-9963027 or 08 444 10 333 or  +email info@ngonyamarentals.co.za for more information.
