We have just returned from our recce trip to Malawi and have discovered wonderful places to see and destinations to stay at. Will will soon post our Review and Trip Report on this webiste.

We not only do rentals of off-road caravans, trailers or camping equipment - we also provide travellers with useful information on various destinations that they can use in planning their trips or safaris. We also provide a service centre where our customers can come to have their off-road caravans or trailers serviced or repaired. Please browse through our web pages.

WHAT LIES AHEAD FOR 2010?

We wish all our Readers and Customers a wonderful and prosperous 2010!

2010 will be the year of Great Expectations. This year we will see an explosion of tourism activities for South Africa. Not only do we expect a large number of Soccer Fans for the 2010 World Cup but we expect a recovery from the recession of the last two years.

Last year we were spot on when we predicted a big cut in the interest rates, but this year will probably see a decline of 0.5% drop in interest rates, but for how long we are not sure. The recession will also take its toll on the treasury and with all the roads and facilties the Government has started with we can expect a rise in taxes in some sort of form. We would not be surprised to see VAT increasing to 15% or more.

For the Ngonyama Safari Club we plan for 2010 safaris to Kafue National Park in Zambia as well as safaris to South Luangwa & Malawi and a photography trip to Mana Pools in Zimbabwe.

TARIFF INCREASES FOR 2010!

We have kept our rates low for a long period of time but unfortunately for 2010 we had to increase it. Many of our rental items remains unchanged, but we managed to keep the increases to about 10%. Check our rates cards for the latest tariffs.

We have made camping very easy with our fully equipped off-road caravans and off-road trailers. Just pack your food and clothes and off you go!

 We specialize in the rentals of off-road caravans where you can rent a fully equipped and fully serviced unit from us including bedding [linen], towels and all the cutlery and crockery in durable stainless steel you will need for your trip. Our caravans are equipped with a 12v/220v fridge/freezer, hot water geyser, gas stove and water tanks. We have choices of various brands to choose from. In our off-road trailer rental section you have the choice to either rent a fully equipped trailer as per rates card or you can rent one of our basic trailers with or without a rooftop tent [we have a couple of options available].  Our Echo and Conqueror range of off-road trailers are fully equipped and are not available as semi-kitted.

The global "credit crunch" of 2008 affected us all. Are you going to buy new off-road caravans or off-road trailers or camping gear that you going to use only once in 2009 or are you going to be smart and rent it at a fraction of the costs of buying it?

 When you rent an off-road caravan from us the current rate is R886.80 which includes VAT and insurance. This rate is nearly 50% cheaper than owning such a unit.

The business of Ngonyama Camper Rentals has also grown into a service and maintenance divisions where we do servicing, maintenance and repairs to customer’s off-road caravans and trailers as well as our own. We also run the Ngonyama Safari Club which organises tours and safaris all over southern Africa. Very popular is our photography tours as well as the courses we present in: introduction to digital wildlife photography, planning a safari, bush mechanics [how to fix breakdowns in the bush etc.], how to use your GPS instruments, towing off-road and much more. Their stunning photographs and articles appear in various leisure magazines.
